On 20, 21 and 22 May 2011, to mark its centenary, the Real Sociedad Canina en Espana (RSCE) held a double international show ; one named the Latin Alliance Show and the other the Centenary Show.

Double Shows are not new and usually are very attractive for owners/handlers as they can win several awards and titles or become Champion in one week-end. For the organizations, double shows are interesting too.

Muscle power for your dog

Dogs are supreme athletes, from a simple run in the park with a Yorkshire terrier to a 100km sled-dog race in the arctic. So, from the small to the large, all dogs have great athletic ability as their limbs are ideally adapted for rapid movement.

Drawing Contest 2010

Dear friends, It is my pleasure to send you an update about the First FCI International Drawing Contest. The FCI received 201 drawings from 22 member countries, the S.P.A. (Society for the prevention of cruelty to animals) of Charleroi and 9 schools from the region of Thuin, where the FCI is located.

We had the pleasure to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the FCI at the international Aptus Show in Helsinki on the 22nd of May.

Great Dane, German Shepherd, Irish Setter, Gordon Setter, Rottweiler, Standard poodle, Weimaraner, American Akita, Bloodhound, Rough Collie, Irish Wolfhound, Newfoundlander, Saint Bernard – they are all dog breeds that have a genetic predisposition for GDV.

On April 9 and 10, the Norwegian Kennel Club hosted their third international dog show of the year. As in previous years, the show took place in Bergen, with close to two thousand dogs making their way to the event.

Lithuanian Kennel Club General Assembly

Lithuanian Kennel Club (LKD) General Assembly and Elections took place on April 9, 2011 in Vilnius. The number of the voting delegates was 49 –one from each regional or breed club.
